Up and at 'em

Here is Fly's yellow pup.  She is a lovely chunky girl and up to no end of mischief. All the pups are full of curiosity but love to be cuddled.  They are now having extra puppy milk to help Fly out and eating science plan food.

This little girl looks much like her mum.  Another very cuddly pup, she still tries to escape the whelping box just like her sisters and brothers.

A chip off the old block, this little man is another chunky boy and likes to pose for the camera. Obviously keeping an eye on what is happening - maybe already dreaming of Pheasant and Partridge falling from the sky.

Opene eyed escapees!

Fly's pups are growing fast.

From this - a week ago -

The pups now have their eyes well open and are busily escaping the whelping box. Over, around, any way they can.  They are at the stage where they will chitter, chatter and bark - already ready to make their impression on the world.

Fly has her puppies

On Thursday 29th March, Fly was showing all the signs of being ready to have her puppies.  Looking rather large, she was searching for cuddles and somewhere to have her pups - the back of the garden being favourite.

However, Gaynor kept a very close eye on her and made sure she didn't stay out for too long.

Philly and I hung around for as long as we could, but Fly, like Doris before her, didn't want anyone but family around.  Waiting until everyone had gone, the first pup was born at 7.30pm.  Seven further pups followed with the last one born at 11.30pm in time for a good night's sleep. Of course, Gaynor stayed up until past midnight, Ronnie was up at 2am and then again early, as usual, 6.30 am - just to check on the pups who all were and still are, thriving.
